i used to have a preconceived notion that if i wanted to be a good artist and make good art, i had to always make serious art that the general citizen would value as good. thankfully, i learned that while you can be a good artist in this way, it is not the only way.

through the course of my practice in high school to now, i've found myself interested in exploring various subjects through humor and childlike aesthetics. exploring different mediums to convey this has become an important part of my process. i've more recently grown to enjoy working with hands on experiments to figure out what i'm doing and learn new ways to create.
my personal goal with my art is to embrace being silly while still being able to explore my emotions and more personal, serious topics. right now, i'm looking for ways to tie more meaning back into my work.
